Scott is a career law enforcement officer with the Edwardsville IL. Police Department, and a professional freelance photographer. His interest in photography began early in life when his parents gave him their old Kodak Brownie Box Camera to use on family vacations. In high school he graduated to shooting and developing his own B&W film. A law enforcement career and family kept photography to a hobby level for many years. While heading the investigations division of the police department, digital photography started replacing the 35mm film cameras being used. Scott was charged with learning the digital process to maintain the departments evidence photography needs. The passion for creating great photographic images was reignited.

Having been entirely self taught up to that point, Scott enrolled at Lewis and Clark Community College and took all the photography and Adobe Photoshop classes that the college offered. Becoming a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals has lead to an ongoing commitment to training and improving his skills both behind the camera and in the post processing of the image. After entering a regional art show and and selling a large number of his nature prints, the large tax form he had to file pushed him to consider starting a professional career. As an avid outdoorsman, his passion for nature and wildlife photography are a major part of his work. He is equally passionate about the many other diverse subjects he enjoys photographing such as rural and urban landscapes, seascapes, stock, and travel oriented photography.

As a freelance photographer Scott has done commercial photography work for Interior Designers, Architects, Contractors, and Artists. Besides doing freelance contract work, Scott does photographic restorations for clients. His nature-oriented prints grace the main lobby of Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois, and the Ronald McDonald Houses, at Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital, and St. Johns Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. His work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, and various periodicals. Scott has won honorable mention awards from photography contests for the National Parks Foundation, and The Nature Conservancy. Scott also writes a blog on his photography and travel along with having a Facebook page.

Serving as the Vice President of the Edwardsville Watershed Nature Preseve has led Scott to use his photography skills to donate many of his photographs to worthy charitable causes. His passion for photography, travel, and the preservation and restoration of our natural environment keep him constantly on the go. His work can be viewed on the following sites.

I have seen your talent on the Cornell website, but was looking for specific pictures of yours. I was elated to find that you have your own website. I thoroughly enjoy your photography on all levels. Now that I know it exists, I will visit often for updates. Keep 'em coming!

Mr. Evers,
You have done some awesome work in photography and I congratulate you. I really enjoy your eagle pictures as I have studyed the meaning of the eagle to the Native American tribes. I saw my first eagle in the wild not far from where I live in the country near Terre Haute, Indiana. I also enjoyed the photos of the farms and covered bridges. We have a covered bridge festival in Rockville, Indiana every year with tours to the various bridges and huge flea markets. In Terre Haute is my favorite Park, Fowler Park with huge lakes, camp grounds and log cabin village with a working grist mill and covered bridge. I also like to attend the Native American Pow Wows in the area. Being an amateur photographer with two nikon digitals D90 and D7000 with various lens I can't wait for decent weather to get out in the fields etc for picture taking. We have plenty of old barns, farm equiptment, with an abundance of wild life in the area as I am a short ride from the Wabash River and acres of farm land. It has been a pleasure seeing your photos that give me many ideas on composition, lighting etc.
Sincerely yours,
Frank

Excellent work on the Eagles. I talked to you yesterday ( 2-19-11) at Alton. I did get a few good shots. Keep up the good work.
